By Nurudeen Oshinlaja, DG, Ona Ogo Management

Today, April 8, 2026, on behalf of Ona Ogo Management, I am pleased to celebrate Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), on his birthday. I toast HOA—a man whose pedigree, path, and posture consistently speak of service.
With you, the title Omo’ba, though earned through no fewer than five royal filiations, finds its fullest meaning—not merely as a designation of heritage, but as a reflection of disposition and a royalty of responsibility. You are respectful of friendship and brotherhood, rooted in gratitude, clear in vision, responsible in action, firm in conviction, yet restrained in power.
As Chairman of IBLCDA, you occupy a pivotal political and administrative space— where grassroots governance meets the aspirations of a fast-evolving council area.

Where public office is often rowdy, your leadership has been notably measured; where politics can be divisive, your disposition has leaned toward balance; and where governance can be transactional, your approach reflects stewardship. Your quiet, consultative, and grounded approach to public service continues to sustain confidence in public leadership. Your chairmanship exemplifies a politics of proximity: listening, engaging, and consistently building consensus. That you are a rallying image for collective purpose is increasingly appreciated by many residents of IBLCDA.
It is an honour that you stand as the symbol of Ona Ogo Management. We have always been clear that “ona tí a bá rìn pẹ̀lú ọgbọ́n ati ojúṣe ni a ń pè ní Ona Ogo” (the path walked with wisdom and dutifulness is the one called the Glorious Path). Ona Ogo represents a philosophy that development must be purposeful and people-centred. A path is only glorious when it leads many forward, not just a privileged few. In posture and practice, you mirror this ideal. Your leadership reflects an understanding that progress is cumulative, that institutions outlive individuals, and that today’s decisions shape tomorrow’s inheritance.

Our journey together constantly reminds me that leadership, when aligned with purpose, can quietly yet profoundly shape a people’s journey. We are often in agreement that leadership is a continuum of service. We say to each other that beyond the fanfare which public office naturally attracts, you—and indeed we, your support system—must be driven by function, focus, and fidelity to the people.
Once again, I celebrate you, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, not merely as a leader of today, but as a custodian of continuity, whose actions contribute to and preserve institutional memory and civic confidence.
My prayers to you are:
May your wisdom continue to mature
May your steps remain guided by clarity

May health and fulfilment remain your constant companions
May your leadership remain impactful
May Ona Ogo—the Glorious Path—remain illuminated by your inspiring example
May IBLCDA continue on a path of peace and sustainable progress under your watch.
Happy Birthday, HOA!
The journey continues—and the path remains glorious.
